Thanks Anthea :-) I'm excited about it!

When I was at the Pueblo tournament with Isaac earlier in the month, I was talking with Scott Massey, and he mentioned how he had a huge collection of old Colorado Chess Informants, and I said I would love to borrow them, and scan them in, so people could enjoy them.

I am going to try and post at least one a week, and then will make a page with links to all of the Informants in an organized manner.

Should be a fun project!

I actually wrote a letter to the editor, and they printed it in the Chess Life magazine apologizing for the mistake. I will see if I can find it USCF online, and post it.

This is funny. I guess they must have been tired when they published it. Seems pretty obvious. Maybe it was in their blindspot.

In my earlier rant I forgot to mention a player from the 80 who had a hook for his right hand. He was cool though he wouldn't let you suffer through the toughts of " oh wow man what am I going to do before this games starts?". He was good enough to offer his left hand in gretting before the game with no hesitation so you didn't have to fret.

Part of a chess club presidents duties is "head plunger" or "Mop swabber". I think this should be pointed out before club elections. It amazes me how grown men can leave a toilet clogged or let it overflow and say nothing. Do they think no one will notice or that maybe they can sneak out? We had "Toilet Troubles" here in Pueblo at a couple of sites years ago. The perpetrator did sneak out a couple of times leaving me the dastardly chore. Fool me twice and then no more. I had to resort to a "Head check" before this player would leave to make sure he would take care of his own mess. CC Pres. oh the power prestige and public adulation.

I don't really like to say good luck either cause I don't really mean it. I still use it but more often thhen not I too mumble "good game" the same thing I usually say at the end, but I think what I mean and want to say is "Here's to a good game." or "Lets play a good game." but both are too long winded. I like playing someone new then you can get away with just introducing yourself sometimes. As for a weak handshake that drives me crazy unless they are crippled or 97 years old with the possibility of severe arthritis (even those with the thritis who were taught right will explain their weak handshake or ask you not to squeeze hard. acceptable). I don't undersstand with the kids why their parents havn't properly taught them how to shake hands and also introduce themselves. I was strongly encouraged from a young age to have a frim handshake and of course look them in the eye. Must be getting elderly and cranky. Scott
